Travers Farm

16"x20" oil/canvas

Did a studio piece this morning. This is the farm that my parents driveway intersects. Unfortunately, it's been sold and the sale signs went up last week for all the individual lots. The landscape is about to become a bit more grim. Well the deluge is here so it's off to the van and up the river!

Looking forward to what you make of this painting, as well as "Ominous Sky". Love peeking at your stuff close up; it's always an education. Also, your palette wheel is, well, custom clever.

Sorry about Travers farm. Sounds like Loriann's field. Development sux.

Love this with its very subtle Whistler-like landscape colors. Have you ever seen Whistler's small landscapes? Gorgeous.
I am very sorry to hear about your loss of landscape. It's really painful to see what we, as a people, are doing to our land.

Thanks Sam. It usually takes me a very long time before I have an opinion on my own stuff. I battle with the personal demons that effect perception. After a long while I can see from an outsiders perspective.

Indeed, development sux

Thanks Loriann. I'll try to get a better photo when conditions are good. This one is slightly awash with light, but is close to accurate. I was not familiar with the small Whistlers. I looked some up and feel a kinship with the man. Talk about atmosphere and emotion! He understood.
