Susquehanna winter

12"x12"
oil/panel

This morning was cold...real cold... So cold in fact that iguanas are falling from the trees in Florida. Sorry, I couldn't resist. It was on NPR.I think they would be dying here in Pennsylvania. I did this one out of the van again. I had the propane heater going so my right hand was warm my left was numb. That's the difference a foot makes when the wind is blowing directly through the door and it's in the single digits. I do love the river when it's about frozen over. Not sure I quite captured it but the morning sun hitting blue mountain was quite nice also. The house.........well it's chilly....not frozen... just chilly. The space heaters are preventing a disaster from occuring. New furnace tomorrow supposedly. I never count my chickens before they hatch.

You did get the feel of the day and the frozen water Brian.
I am so envious of that van. It was cold out there today... good thing we don't have iguanas.

Yeah the van is nice. I have to say she barely wanted to start this morning. Diesels don't like single digit temps. My mixed paint was starting to freeze even in the van. First I've seen that. Last year I did a plein air piece at 12 degrees farenheit and used pure paint. Less reaction. It seems the stand oil may have a higher freeze point. Not sure though.Great post you put up today!

Thanks Sam. Yes, you're spot on. As the temps warm the furnace should be installed. I have other friends in Colorado and they say it was beautiful today. Takes 2 days to get here. I really do like the visual aspects of frigid weather I just don't like living in it!
