I've been busy lately preparing for the Studio Tour (see link to the right)
I don't expect everyone to get this painting. For me, I'm finally feeling it. With all disregard for reality I'm finally laying down paint instinctively. I shouldn't say disregard for reality but this is my interpretation of reality. It is really about finding freedom. My take on life as I see it. This may sound selfish, but really what artist isn"t self indulged? That's the beauty of art. We discover ourselves. No?
p.s. the sun had already set while doing this one.

It's beautiful!
Yes, really very nice Brian!
Beautiful...what strikes me most is the way you used the paint and didn't need to adhere to the tyranny of the steeple telling you its shape. You allowed a softness to some edges while still retaining the solidity.Nice. Good luck with the studio tour.
This one seems to have emotion in it.
It must be a nice feeling--I think I'm still not painting instinctually, except maybe on abstracts.
Thanks each and all. This was an emotionally charged one and a race to beat the fading light.
This is lovely Brian. It has such a light and airy feeling to it. I really enjoy seeing your work. I will be back!
I agree, about finding freedom. Because, in the end, it's a painting (with inspirations and cues taken from the world). If it stays to much as a copy, then that's all it is...it loses what makes painting so beautiful.
