Catskills' Longhorns

30"x40" oil/canvas
Spring is approaching and I'm still doing winter livestock. This time the boys make an appearance. We saw this image just before the Catskills received their 4 ft of snow. Thats just after we received our 4ft. I purposely keep the figures vague. It's a mood scene not neccessarily a landscape.

These bad boys better not get moody, with their 7 feet of hook-em-horns, but the moody contrast between the sky and the hill is very nice. I also like the sky-blue reflection in the snow.

Thanks Sam. These fellas were quite impressive in person. I'll probably do a more detailed piece with one silhoutted longhorn in a vertical format.

Hey Loriann. Thank You, I liked the color conditions of the scene. Nice cool foreground and a warm, fleeting sky.
