12"x20" oil

Happy Christmas Eve day! I woke up and found about a 1/2" of ice coating everything outside. This central Pennsylvania weather just plain sucks! Since the sidewalk is a skating rink and my car is a freezer I'm not attempting to go to my real job. Which really is making turkey calls by the way. So what to do? Wrap some last minute gifts perhaps? Maybe bake some cookies? nahh. Salt the sidewalk. Yes. Go back to bed? No way, I'm painting containers of spices! Yes I chose red and green capped spices in honor of the holidays. I had great fun in doing this one and will pursue the subject further. If I try real hard to see, these spices seem as though they may be singing carols. P.S. I will be painting at Art and Soul gallery 900 market st. Lemoyne, Pa. the gallery is upstairs at the farmers market. I'll be there Sat. December, 27 from 10:00am- 1:00pm. Stop by!

Hi Brian. I wish I could blame the bad weather on your friend's recent move! No, I don't think he brought it. The weather here has been changing - we used to have a light snow every few years, last year it snowed 5 times, the last one was in May, which is so unthinkable in this temperate climate. Tell you friend that things should get better but not to ever count on a really good summer. Good summers here are a gift (I'm from S.Cal. and I do miss the endless sunny days), but when it is beautiful here, it is spectacular. All the water and mountians and amazing views, there's no place I'd rather be in the summer.

I found your blog by a random flipping through 'blogspot', and marked it as something I'd like to come back to. I like your paintings very much. They remind me a bit of Wolf Kahn's work.

If you do go to the Carmel Art Festival, be sure to let me know. My brother is a long time resident of Carmel Valley and his wife works for the Monterey Bay chamber, promoting M.B. and area, as a conference destination. They could give you insight on where to stay etc.

keep painting and posting! Happy New Year!

Nice work. I've added you to my blog list along with Mike Rooney. I'm getting encouraged to reach another plateau in oil painting from both of your work.
