skipjack

40"x30"
oil/canvas

I'm back from a week of chasing turkeys through the beautiful mountains of upstate New York. Not a metaphor. Some new shows are lined up and I'm very excited to be in the Armonk fine art show in September. I'm exhibiting in a show on the eastern shore of Maryland on Memorial day weekend. This is a skipjack from around Tilghman Island that will be on exhibit.

I bet this painting looks fantastic in all it's 30x40 glory! What a great focal point in any room!

Thanks Janelle. I think it's a strong piece but it's always hard for me to tell. The light in this one requires a limited value range to read believable. A stronger contrast would really pop but I liked the palette in this one and tried to get that mood. I'm doing the old town Chicago show pretty soon and art at the glen. I'll let you know the dates. Also the fountain square show.

Hi Brian, I wish I could see this one in person. Beautiful. I also took a look at your schedule...you are a VERY busy man!

Beautiful work, Brian! I believe John and I went for a sail on that skipjack when we were there a couple of years ago!

Thanks Loriann. The schedule is really filling up. I have more to update but time is limited. Sorry I'll miss your opening. I will try to get to Bethesda. I really want to see your work. The new stuff is great!

Thanks Barbara. I didn't know you were a blogger! I'll check your blog. How cool is that if you and John were on that skipjack. Hope your well and I'll see you at the Governors Mansion show.
