Thanks Loriann, good things ARE starting to happen. I just found out I was accepted as an artist in the Agora gallery international exhibit in Chelsea NYC. Also they are putting my paintings online for sale. This is getting exciting!
I did 2 paintings yesterday but will see about posting the second. Liz likes it but I'm not so sure. Will walk along the river today and see what transpires.
These river ones are really great. I'm liking a lot how you've set the horizon up so high, yet still get the distance. I struggle with that so much! And, congrats on that show.
I am an oil painter. I paint mostly from direct observation both indoors and out. I studied at the Art Students League Manhattan under Daniel Dickerson. In my work I strive to maintain a balance between abstraction and representation all the while keeping atmosphere most important. View my show schedule to see where I'll be exhibiting.

A beauty Brian! The color harmony is perfect and I love the way you made the reflection. Keep hanging out at that river...who knows what will happen!

Congratulations Brian, you certainly deserve it!
Brian, congrats on the great news! I love this little study, it's so tranquil. Appropriately, the colors are all nicely neutralized.
